David Bean, President
- David Bean, BSME / MBA, has extensive experience in engineering, manufacturing, marketing and business development with Corning Incorporated. Bean managed the marketing of Corning's optical components for telecommunications which included their market-leading pump laser business. Mr. Bean's significant accomplishments include helping launch InfiniCor™ optical fiber (the industry's best-selling multimode fiber), recommending and supporting the successful acquisition of Lasertron Inc., and growing Corning's pump laser business to be the market share leader.
Dr. John Callahan, Development
- Dr. John Callahan, Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, now heads our development activities. John comes to SemiNex with a long career as Director of Engineering for Xanoptix and Cubic Wafer. John has helped pioneer semiconductor laser technology for telecommunications, datacom, and industrial applications. Prior to joining SemiNex, Dr. Callahan was Director of Research and Development for Cubic Wafer where he led the efforts to develop a high density packaging technology for the semiconductor industry. From 2002 to 2005, Dr. Callahan was with Xanoptix, Inc. While there he served as the Director of Research and Development where he oversaw the IC, Mechanical and Processing Engineering teams. He was responsible for overseeing the development of a high density fiber coupled optical transceiver composed of 36 transmitter and 36 receiver channels integrated within a package containing the control circuitry and coupling optics. Dr. Callahan was significantly involved with the design and fabrication of the optical components and the packaging technology. Prior to Xanoptix, Dr. Callahan developed processing and packaging technology for VCSEL's, p-i-n detectors and other custom optoelectronics.
