Erik Zucker Appointed to SemiNex Board of Advisors

SemiNex Corporation, a leader in indium phosphide (InP) semiconductor devices, today announced the appointment of Erik Zucker to its Board of Advisors. Erik brings over thirty years of expertise in optical communications, industrial lasers, and advanced sensing systems from leadership roles at Lumentum, JDSU, and Spectra Diode Labs, where he pioneered innovations in photonic device design and system integration.

Mr. Zucker’s technical leadership spans high-power lasers for terrestrial and submarine fiber-optic amplifiers, kW-class fiber lasers, q-switched, and ultrafast lasers for materials processing, and edge-emitter and VCSEL lasers for 3D sensing photonics. His deep knowledge of device design, reliability, and high-volume manufacturing will accelerate SemiNex’s development of next-generation semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) and lasers for applications in LiDAR, quantum sensing, and optical networks.

At JDSU, Mr. Zucker led the R&D and Product Devlopment team which created advanced DWDM components and pump lasers now deployed in the global telecom infrastructure. As lasers CTO at Lumentum, he drove product strategy for such markets as 3D depth sensing, automotive LiDAR, industrial materials processing, medical, and telecommunications. His background will directly support SemiNex’s mission to enhance performance validation for its industry-leading reflective SOA arrays and high-power amplifiers in optical communications.
