Semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOA)
Achieve Higher Power with SemiNex Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers
Revolutionizing High-Power Applications
SemiNex Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOA), represent a leap forward in the amplification of single-mode lasers for high-power applications. Our proprietary epitaxial growth techniques and advanced waveguide architecture enable SemiNex devices to achieve superior gain and saturation output power, distinguishing them from competing solutions in the market.
Our SOAs have been engineered with precision to balance cost-efficiency and high performance, making them an ideal choice for applications demanding economic and technical optimization. The core of this breakthrough lies in our unique approach to the design and fabrication of the semiconductor structure, which has been optimized for enhanced photon amplification and efficient energy use.
SemiNex SOAs are versatile and adaptable, seamlessly integrating into various optical components and configurations for high-power applications. Our wavelength choices of SemiNex SOA include 1310 and 1550nm, with choices between tilted straight waveguide or curved waveguide formats, and low AR/AR coating for SOA or low AR/HR coating for Gain Chip options. Gain chip, otherwise known as ROSA, stands for reflective semiconductor optical amplifier. SemiNex provides SOAs and RSOAs in several packaging and submount configurations, including fiber coupled and non-fiber options such as Chip on Carrier (CoC) and 14-Pin Butterfly packages.
By integrating our SOAs into your systems, you're not just leveraging a component; you're harnessing the culmination of SemiNex's extensive research and development in photonics, designed to deliver unmatched performance where it matters most.
Exploring the Versatility of Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOAs)
Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (SOAs) are devices designed to amplify optical signals through stimulated emission, generating gain through current injection. Unlike traditional methods involving conversion to electrical signals and back to optical, SOAs offer the advantage of directly amplifying the optical intensity of the signal.
The applications of SOAs span various domains:
LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging)
Power up your FMCW (Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) LiDAR with SOAs. These amplifiers being particularly invaluable in autonomous vehicle applications.
With SemiNex you can enhance the range of your remote sensing range finders with ease.
Increase ranging up to 250+m, in all weather and direct sunlight conditions, by adding SemiNex' high-powered SOAs to your FMCW (Frequency Modulation Continuous Wave) LiDAR and detect the faintest object at 1310 or 1550nm.
Data Center and Optical Communications
Our state-of-the-art SOAs provide superior performance and enable powerful communications that are retinal safe at long-wavelengths, ensuring private and secure data transmission.
SemiNex SOAs enable 10 to 40kM mobile phone base station and data center communications at the 1310nm wavelength.
SemiNex ensures reliable communication performance, providing you with the confidence in the safety and security of your data during transit.
The new SemiNex Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA) emerges as a cost-effective and high-performance solution for amplifying single-mode lasers in high-power applications. Leveraging SemiNex's unique epitaxial and waveguide design, these SOAs offer higher gain and saturation output power compared to competitors, further enhancing their utility across various industries and applications.
