The award-winning ECL integrates SemiNex’s proprietary Gain Chips and Semiconductor Optical Amplifier (SOA) chips, known for their exceptional reliability and high performance. Its external cavity architecture provides precise optical feedback, enabling single-frequency output with >200 mW of fiber-coupled power and an ultra-narrow <3 kHz Lorentzian linewidth. This represents a significant advancement over conventional Distributed Feedback (DFB) lasers operating at 1310 nm and 1550 nm. The result is higher output power, lower Relative Intensity Noise (RIN), and superior Side Mode Suppression Ratio (SMSR) for demanding applications.
The SemiNex ECL’s high-coherence design is ideally suited for optical networks, FMCW LiDAR, aerospace systems, quantum sensing, industrial metrology, and high-precision navigation. It is available in both C-band and O-band wavelength ranges, with customization options for specific center wavelengths. For seamless system integration, the ECL is offered in a Telcordia-approved 14-pin butterfly fiber-coupled package, ensuring system stability, robust optical alignment, and long-term durability. A swept-wavelength module configuration is also available for applications requiring dynamic tuning.
